Missing Mac
Tomorrow is a city wide trash pickup here in Shawnee. You can virtually put almost anything out there, and the city will take it. I’m finally getting rid of the box for my 24” Mac, so I set it out by the curb, then left to run some errands. Upon returning I noticed the box had been opened. What part of our human brain tells us, that when we see such a box sitting on the curb, we need...

Adobe
I don’t know if I am making this up in my head, or if anyone is noticing this as well, but it seems like ever since the announcement of the iPad and CS5, I have seen an outpouring of dislike for Adobe on the internet. I’m sure there are still plenty of people that love their software, but for me I’m starting to see where they are lacking. I can’t say I’m excited...

Preview Forgiveness Rock Record →
I finally sat down and listened to the new Broken Social Scene album coming out next week, and wow. Pretty fantastic. I’ve been a big fan of them since I first heard Feel Good Lost. This new album does not let down one bit, and it could be too early to say this, but it might be their best. It is that good.

– Scott Hansen (ISO50) These are not his exact words, but more of a shortened, simplified version from this video, which is a must watch.

Design Tweets
This morning I started picking up where my old blog “everything all the time” left off, and started tweeting some design links. I’m going to try and do a few of these every day or every other day if anyone cares to follow. www.twitter.com/evrtstudio

Music
I love music; maybe more than design. So how do you decide what to listen to right now? There are so many amazing bands with new albums out, or coming out, it is sort of overwhelming: MGMT Caribou The National Nada Surf Broken Social Scene LCD Soundsystem Band of Horses The Hold Steady The Black Keys Rufus Wainwright The New Pornographers The Album Leaf + more…..  It is going to...

South Florida
I thought I would finally get around to sharing a few photos from my trip to Miami and the southern Keys. It was one of the better vacations that I can remember, and came at one of the most perfect times. We stayed at a small bed & breakfast on Big Pine Key (40 miles north of Key West) which served the most unbelievable breakfasts I’ve ever seen. And they were completely Vegan. And...

Tumblr Shirt Idea
I have an idea for a shirt, I just don’t have time to work on it, so I’m putting this idea out there for someone else to use. An illustration of the front of a dryer, with the tumblr logo underneath. Get it? :-)

Cucumber Sandwich
One of our favorite spring & summer sandwiches to make here at the EVRT household, is a Cucumber Sandwich. As much as I love cooking from scratch, a lot of times you don’t have that option for lunch, unless you prepare something in advance. So this sandwich is super easy to make with store bought items, and is delicious & vegetarian. Toast a bagel lightly, and once done spread...

This Weeks Project
Wedding invitations are not something I regularly do, but might become more of a necessity given the circumstances. This week I’m finishing up some invites, which I think turned out pretty well. I used a royal purple VIA Linen 80lb cardstock, with the rest being printed on plain white 80lb. Custom flower illustration on the main announcement. The bottom has a small folded pocket, which...
