Adobe
I don’t know if I am making this up in my head, or if anyone is noticing this as well, but it seems like ever since the announcement of the iPad and CS5, I have seen an outpouring of dislike for Adobe on the internet. I’m sure there are still plenty of people that love their software, but for me I’m starting to see where they are lacking.
I can’t say I’m excited about CS5, when I just spent a lot of money to get CS4 and yet deal with random failures and bugs all the time. I’m sure there are fixes to my issues, but I shouldn’t have to go scouring the internet to find them: fixes should come in a release straight from Adobe. But I haven’t seen an update come through in months. Maybe their time would be better spent fine tuning their current software, rather then trying to create amazing new features (content aware fill) that I don’t care about. Pretty soon, no one will actually have to know how to use a camera.
Anyway, the point of all this is just like the economy and not letting banks get too big, when a software company becomes a monopoly you start to see their shortcomings. If there were ever any time for another company to challenge Adobe at what they do in a big way, it would be now.

abso-god damn-lutely.
My plan is to steal EVERYTHING from Adobe from here on out. I’ve already paid them thousands of dollars.
