A while ago I ran into this Washington Post article about a families room makeover, and noticed they used my CB2 Satellite rug! It is pretty cool to see it laid out in a room concept.

Almost@home lounge
Check out this home-like lounge in Helsinki, Finland’s Vantaa airport. Designed to feel like the typical Finnish home for folks to feel comfortable in.
I may never get to experience it, which is a good thing because I would probably miss my flight!
PLE Residence by Mim Design
If I had a kitchen and dining combo that looked like this, I would be sleeping on that table. In other words non of the other rooms in the house would ever be used. I am convinced that Australia has the best residential Architecture and Interior design in the world.

Pentagonal House by Kazuya Morita Architecture Studio
A stunning house in Japan. As much as I like to look at extreme Japanese Minimalism I know in reality I probably could not live in it. So this house has the right blend for me. And an extremely efficient layout. The central open space with the large arches is breathtaking. Take a look at more photos with the link, especially some of the details.

Rhododendron Chandelier from Anthropologie
This light is stunning (both looks & price wise: $898) and would look good in just about any setting you could possibly come up with. The flowers are made of Tyvek so it will last forever.
P.S. If you wanted to attempt a DIY version you could probably get a similar look using Coffee filters and wire.
Mid Century Denmark
This house is stunning. I can only dream of a MCM house like that someday. You can see more photos over at Design Attractor.
Vaulted Ceilings
Since Lori is posting images and the process on the past remodel of our home in KC, it reminded me how much I miss living in an actual home but especially one with vaulted ceilings. If you have ever lived in a space with vaulted ceilings you will know what I mean. It is pretty hard to go back from that once you have it.
So here are a few inspirational images I have collected lately of amazing vaulted ceilings.
Public Chicago Hotel
Ian Schrager has opened the first location of his new more affordable hi-end hotel chain, in Chicago. Working with Anda Andrei to overhaul the Ambassador East hotel built in 1926, the resulting scenery is jaw dropping. The design is not trendy or hip, just amazing and timeless. With a past history of Pump Room Restaurant visitors such as JFK, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor, I’m sure the new design is going to equally draw a famous crowd.
The most amazing part is the rooms start at $135 a night!
