Gamla Stan
I dearly miss Christmas in Stockholm. It is truly something special!
Polaboy by Lightboys
Formed by Jirko Bannas & Oliver Seltmann to reinvent how photographs are displayed. Polaboy is just one of a few of their amazing ideas.
Designed to be an ultra thin (only 20mm) backlit (LED) Polaroid frame with a custom picked fabric covered power cord. You can also send them a Polaroid to be scanned or a digital file. The lights are hand made in Germany.
This would immediately go on my “to buy” list except it is $3050 (2400 EUR). Exclusively available here.

Tweason’ale Cinemagraphs by Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg
It drives me crazy to see this being passed around Tumblr without any credit attached to it.
Jamie and Kevin are two of the nicest down-to-earth people you will ever meet, and crazy talented to top it off. Needless to say, they are going places (or already there).
It is always amazing to see their Cinemagraphs, but tied into this beer crafting story of Sam Calagione & Dogfish Head Brewery creating their new Tweason’ale, you can really see the power behind the imagery. Amazing work, and congrats to the both of them for all of the success!
Foristell, MO
I’ve been wanting to take a photo of this building for years. Finally just stopped and did it……..
Russian Bus Stop Photographs by Christopher Herwig
These are seriously fascinating….
“The roadside bus stop serves a simple purpose – to show where the bus will stop and to provide some comfort and shelter for waiting passengers. One would think that the Soviets would have come up with one universal design for this community structure – simple, functional and cheap to mass produce. However, in many instances this was not the case, much time, effort and imagination went into many roadside bus stops. The sky was the limit with different shapes and design– blocks, domes, columns, towers, A-frames and archways, even ones shaped like birds, yurts and hats. If the bus stop was less bold and daring with its architectural design then the creators would often attract attention with decorating the structure with murals or mosaics. The themes that these decorated bus stops took usually varied depending on the region, often reflecting the local culture, history, or industries.”

As I mentioned last week, here is a pack of wallpapers with photos taken after our big snowstorm in KC last week. There are 29 total images in the pack, sized for desktop, iPad & iPhone. Desktops are 2560x1600: if you need smaller I’m afraid you’ll just have to downsize folks. iPad wallpapers are 1024x1024 and iPhone at 640x960.
Hope you enjoy, and have a good weekend!
Yesterday I put on my snow gear, rubber boots, grabbed the camera & monopod, and went for a long hike through Shawnee Mission Park. I went completely off the paths (which I’m probably not supposed to do) and it felt really good to be hiking through areas with snow that was untouched except by wildlife. I only saw two other people the entire time, and they were a mile away.
Here are a few photos from yesterday. Next week look for a pack of winter wallpapers.

You can see all of these larger on my flickr page.

Thanks to Jamie for the beautiful photo!
Fall

Here are some photos from a recent bike riding & apple picking adventure. What a great time of year! These were definitely inspired by my good friend and amazing photographer, Jamie at From Me To You

This bike is actually vintage (I believe the bike shop owner said it was from the 30’s) however the bike below only looks so, but is actually new.

Cooper Black
I love this sign to no end. I bookmarked it a while ago (mentally), and finally went to take a photo of it today. I didn’t realize the letters were in Cooper Black, so that was a bonus!
